About the Author:

John D. Blair has been a UNIX fanatic ever since he got his first shell account while he was a senior in high school in 1991. He learned the fine art of UNIX system administration while an undergrad at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), where he earned a Bachelor of Philosophy from the School of Interdisciplinary Studies. He currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife Rachel and two cats, and son expected in April 1998.
